"The flagship wine from Cordero di Montezemolo is the 2019 Barolo Enrico VI (with 6,200 bottles hitting the market now). This organic wine is made from a special selection of fruit at 300 meters in elevation from the Villero cru in Castiglione Falletto. It reveals a slow and long presentation of aromas with blackcurrant, cassis, grilled herb and crushed rose. These delicate aromas are presented in the context of a concentrated, full-bodied Nebbiolo that is built for long cellar aging."

"The rose flower, violet, dark berry and cedar aromas are impressive on the nose. Full-bodied with chewy tannins that are powerful and muscular. Excellent length. Classic Barolo that needs at least four or five years to soften. From organically grown grapes. Try after 2027."

"The 2019 Barolo Enrico VI is a super-classic wine from this site. Spice, menthol and a whole range of balsamic inflections open first, before the firm Villero tannins kick in. I imagine the 2019 is going to need a number of years to be at its best, but it is another stellar wine in this lineup from Cordero di Montezemolo."
