D & L Carinalli is small, boutique winery in Sebastopol run by a husband and wife team.  Home winemaking had always been a part of Domenico Carinalli Jr.'s heritage, but in the mid-1990's he decided to take it to the next level starting with 2 acres of Chardonnay grapes.  Since then the Carinalli family has turned out a number of award-winning wines that continue to garner top-notch medals even when competing against more expensive wine from big-name wineries.  Most years they take home at least a few Gold Medals from the Harvest Fair.  This Chardonnay took home a Gold Medal from the Harvest Fair.  The 2021 D & L Carinalli Russian River Valley Estate Chardonnay is a great wine at any price.  It's silky, yet rich with excellent balance and texture.  It's elegant with aromas of toast, tropical fruit and citrus.  It has flavors of green apple and ripe pear on the finish.  This is a ridiculously good deal on top-quality Russian River Chardonnay.  Enjoy!
