"The 2004 Francesco Rinaldi Brunate is a beautiful, classic bottle in the making. The bouquet is deep and very much defined by its soil elements, as it wafts from the glass in a blend of cherries, a touch of orange zest, fennel seed, woodsmoke, roses and a very complex base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and very transparent, with plenty of structure from the synthesis of tangy acids and firm, ripe tannins. The finish is very long, shows excellent grip and no shortage of Brunate character. A superb bottle in the making."

"There is notable clarity and detail to be found in the 2004 Barolo Le Brunate. The wine possesses lovely density and richness, with very typical balsamic aromas and flavors that swirl around the dark fruit. This shows terrific purity and balance, yet the firm style will require quite a bit of patience."
