"Aromas of violets and lavender on the nose. Hints of rosemary. Crushed berries. Medium to full body. Firm tannins with hints of wood. Needs time to come together. Very pretty. Drink after 2020."

"The 2016 Campaccio (Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) is robust and soft, peeling back layers of dark fruit, spice, leather and tobacco. This wine offers a high level of richness and concentration, however it does not feel heavy or too thick. The wine's fiber is firm and tight enough to pair with with roast chicken or a hearty steak, either way. With 170,000 bottles made, you get good value here."

"The 2016 Campaccio is clearly a wine from a previous era at the estate. Ample and rich in feel, the 2016 powers through with copious black plum, chocolate, mocha and sweet oak. There is plenty of depth, but the 2016 also feels a bit heavy. Even so, the 2016 is nicely done in its style. It will be interesting to see what the new owners do with their flagship Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend."
