Our second private barrel from Angel's Envy!
This version is decadent! Maybe the best bourbon's I've tried from this Louisville distiller. Bottled at 110 proof, the first thing you'll notice is the dark, rich color. The standard release of Angel's Envy is much lighter. What exudes from the glass is aromas that bring to mind French Toast! Confectioners sugar, toasted brioche, and maple syrup. Then the barrel finish takes center stage, the port barrel shines through with aromas of blackebrry cobbler, and then some dried nectarine. The flavors are warm and rich. Almost like drinking aged port or madeira. Very decadent! The higher proof lends balance and brings you back to earth and reminds you that this is just good old Kentucky bourbon with a little extra something!
