First off, this is not your grandad’s Jack or Sinatra’s for that matter. Frank and your pops drank Jack at 90 proof and about four years old. This monster comes in at six years old and a whopping 129.1 proof.
Warning: approach this beast with caution. That said, slowly ease your nose into the glass and enjoy everything you love about Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, but heightened.
Nose: candied pecans, toffee peanuts, banana bread, Madagascar vanilla, RC Cola, baking spices, semi-sweet chocolate, sweet oak, and hints of citrus.
Palate: incredibly rich mouth feel, freshly roasted redskin peanuts, vanilla, toasted banana bread with butter.
Finish: It’s like the Energizer Bunny…it keeps going and going… a mix of banana bread, redskins, and black pepper.
Try it neat and then add a few drops of a good bottled water. Sit down and put on some good tunes and really enjoy this one. Hell, drink it like Frank did with a couple of cubes and a splash of branch water.
Put on Sinatra Live at the Sands (One For My Baby) or, like I did, listen to the entire album and enjoy!
