"The 2018 vintage is the first every produced of a Bouzy Rosé by Monsieur Marguet, which tells you just how exceptional Benoît felt the quality of the fruit was in this year. The wine is composed entirely from pinot noir and was disgorged in February of 2023, after three and a half years of aging on its fine lees. The bouquet is simply gorgeous, offering up scents of cherries, rhubarb, orange zest, rye bread, plenty of smokiness, a lovely base of chalky soil tones and just a whisper of buttery oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, crisp and complex, with excellent depth of fruit, fine soil signature and focus, very refined mousse and a long, elegant and still quite brisk finish. This will want at least a few years in the cellar to soften up its acids a bit more before it is ready for primetime drinking. (Drink between 2026 - 2045)."
