Angeline Vineyards was founded in 1990 in the heart of Sonoma County. Their goal is to make wine that is a true expression of its varietal. Angeline consistently blends exceptional fruit sourced from the best vineyards California has to offer. Using minimal intervention and manipulation in winemaking, they want the terroir to shine through and each bottle to reflect the true nature of the variety. A sister winery to Martin Ray, they draw consistent accolades and provide exceptional value. Angeline Vineyards was founded on the premise of offering varietally true wines at competitive prices. Founder Courtney Benham found few 100% Pinot Noirs were true expressions of the varietal for under $20. He set out to create a portfolio that would overdeliver in this category and he succeeded. It's rare to find a Pinot Noir that's as delicious as it is affordable. The 2023 Angeline Vineyards California Pinot Noir was sourced from the best Pinot Noir regions throughout the state. From the warmer regions of the Central Coast, to the foggy cool valleys of our Northern Coast, each individual lot promotes the intense berry and spice flavors quintessential to Pinot Noir. It has vivid notes of black raspberry, fresh pomegranate juice, wild blueberry, sassafras, licorice and toasted oak. This is a light and fresh Pinot Noir with an earthy backbone and grippy tannins. It's light-bodied, clean and attractive with real Pinot character. Enjoy!
James Suckling, 90 Points
"A light and fresh pinot that has real pinot character, with sliced strawberry and citrus notes. Light-bodied, clean and an attractive. Drink now. Screw cap."
Winemaker Notes:
"The most profound contributing factor to the outstanding quality of our California Pinot Noir, and the integrity to its varietal, is the diversity of its sourcing. Because it is not relegated to a single county or growing region, we are given the opportunity to source from the best Pinot Noir regions throughout the state. From the warmer regions of the Central Coast, to the foggy cool valleys of our Northern Coast, each individual lot promotes the intense berry and spice flavors quintessential to Pinot Noir. Vivid notes of black raspberry, fresh pomegranate juice, with wild blueberry, sassafras, subtle licorice, toasted oak an earthy backbone, and grippy tannins."
