"Iwai Tradition Château Mars Wine Cask Whisky is a limited-edition blended whisky produced by Mars Shinshu in Nagano, Japan. Distilled from 70% malted barley and 30% corn, and aged in ex-bourbon, sherry, and American oak casks, Mars finishes its core blended whisky, Iwai Tradition, in ex-wine casks from the Pinot Noir and Cabernet producing Mars Winery in Yamanashi. The nose shows aromas of toasted oats, strawberries, and sweet cream which transition to a palate of pomegranate molasses, rosemary, and pink peppercorn with a lingering hint of cinnamon. This expression retains the peppered backbone of the original Iwai Tradition while replacing its lightly floral notes with delicate baking spice."
