"Full bodied and richly peated, Lagavulin is the mightiest of the Islay malts, both in style and intensity.  To reveal the full depth and complexity of this single malt whisky, the master distiller hand selected a small number of casks for double maturation in Pedro Ximenez seasoned American oak.

Its accents of rich, sun-dried grape sweetness were chosen to complement this spectacular single malt's rich complex style.  This unforgettable Distillers Edition of Lagavulin delivers a richly flavored, yet dark smokiness that intensifies as the peat grows.  The Pedro Ximenez seasoned casks impart a sweetness and spice that together with the smoke set this whisky apart.  Deep amber in color this malt's raisin-rich sweetness is enveloped in a wonderfully intense peaty smoke."
