"The 2022 village Chambolle from J.F. Mugnier is more generous than the 2021, and there is more depth of flavour and concentration than most producers manage at this level. Part of the reason is that the grapes come from the very cool Combe d'Orveaux above Flagey blended with grapes from the premier cru Les Plantes. The result boasts a lovely, forward blackberry fruit with floral notes and a hint of spice. The extraction is done with a very light hand, and the result is superb at this level."

"Mid purple, superfine nose, the quintessence of Chambolle in absolute purity. Worth many sniffs. Very succulent raspberry and strawberry fruit, with fine tension behind. Makes one salivate, this should be special. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted Nov 2023."

"A ripe, fresh and elegant array is comprised by notes of red and dark currant, spice and a violet top note plus an interesting hint of orange peel. The beautifully textured and solidly concentrated medium weight flavors possess a lovely innate tension that carries over to the youthfully austere, balanced, minerally and impressively long finale. This is an excellent Chambolle villages."

"The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Village has a clean, precise bouquet with ebullient red berry fruit notes laced with a crushed stone aroma. The palate is medium-bodied, crisp and taut with fine tannins. It’s seemingly put on some weight since I tasted it from barrel. This is lovely."
