"Intense aromas of oatmeal, lemon pastry, roasted pineapples and mineral. Fresh, bone-dry and creamy with good volume and substance. 40% viura, 30% garnacha blanca and 30% maturana blanca."
Wine Advocate, 94 Points
"The 2020 Flor de Muga Blanco has a golden color and a smoky and toasty nose. It was produced with Viura and around 30% Garnacha Blanca and Maturana Blanca, sold as Reserva. It fermented and matured separately in barrels and a few 500-liter barrels for six years. It's chalky, tasty, round and balanced with very good freshness (a constant in the whites and rosés) and has a long, tasty finish."
Wine Spectator, 90 Points
"A well-tailored white, with fragrant hints of dried mint and verbena winding through flavors of baked pear, quince paste and graphite, plus rich hints of salted butter and hazelnut. There's initially a broad feel to this medium-bodied version, but the well-knit, citrusy acidity keeps everything bright and buoyant throughout. Viura, Garnacha Blanca and Maturana Blanca. Drink now through 2029. 1,000 cases made, 200 cases imported."
Winemaker Notes:
"A bright, golden colored wine. On the nose it stands out for its very high intensity of aromas, very complex, in which first the spicy aromas (vanilla, cinnamon) come to the fore, with very faint toasted aromas and in the background, we find citrus fruit (grapefruit, lemon peel) complemented by white blossom. It shows good acidity on the palate, balanced by the smoothness and sense of volume in the mouth. The citrus and spicy notes return. Very long, with a mineral and somewhat phenolic finish as a result of the time spent in the wood."
