"The domaine owns one parcel here of 0.44ha at the top of the slope, planted in 1989. The grapes ripened well, but because the fruit was picked early there is admirable freshness here, with an elegant, lemony scent on the nose and a texture with richness but also restraint, then plenty of finesse on the finish. Drinking Window 2024 - 2039."

"The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Champs Gain has turned out very well, mingling aromas of pear, white flowers, toasted brioche, orange oil and anise. Medium to full-bodied, bright and chalky, it's intense and youthfully tightly wound. This is one of the most serious Champs Gains that Niellon has produced in recent years."

"More elegant and perfumed aromas include those of just sliced apple, spiced pear and a touch of acacia blossom. There is slightly better vibrancy to the equally plump, fleshy and caressing medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a more detailed and sneaky long bitter lemon rind finish."
