Robin Pollard, former Executive Director of the Washington Wine Commission, teamed up with her life partner, Chris Camarda of Andrew Will fame, to create Pollard Vineyard.  Chris Camarda is one of Washington's greatest and most talented winemakers.  His deep understanding of the area is showcased in the Pollard project.  Wine Advocate called Pollard's first vintage "an instant success" and named them an "Exciting Producer to Keep An Eye On".  Wine Advocate went on to say their wines are "focused on quality and deliver an excellent drinking experience at a fantastic price."  Washington Bordeaux red blends offer tremendous value especially compared to those from Sonoma or Napa Valley.  It is astounding the amount of world-class wine at reasonable prices you can still find in Washington.  The 2018 Pollard Pollard Vineyard Red Blend is beautifully balanced and almost too easy to like.  It's luscious, complex and compelling with fine-grained tannins.  This Bordeaux blend is all about finesse and elegance.  It's medium to full-bodied and delicious with bright acidity.  It's polished with wonderful purity and a great finish.  This wine is mouthwatering and a total pleasure.  It has notes of raspberry, blueberries, ripe wild berry, creme de cassis, leafy tobacco, peppery herbs and spring flowers.  Enjoy!

Jeb Dunnuck, 95 Points

"I loved the 2018 Red Blend from Robin Pollard, and this might be the finest wine I've tasted from this vineyard. A blend of 40% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, it has a pretty, perfumed bouquet of red and blue fruits, leafy tobacco, cedarwood and spring flowers. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, balanced, elegant red with polished, fine-grained tannins, wonderful purity, and a great finish. All about finesse and elegance, it will evolve for 10-15 years if well stored."

Vinous, 93 Points

"The 2018 Red Wine is a total pleasure on the nose, leading off with a burst of crushed blueberries, peppery herbs and rosy florals. This soothes with its soft, pliant textures, as a contrasting blend of saline minerals and ripe wild berry fruits swirls throughout. The 2018 keeps the energy high. The mouth waters for more as violet inner florals and hints of licorice fade. This is almost too easy to like. It's beautifully balanced."

Wine Advocate, 90 Points

"Made from a blend of 40% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Cabernet Franc, the fleshy and approachable 2018 Pollard Vineyard Red Wine offers aromas of crème de cassis with blackberry skin. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is delicious without being overly complicated by oak and displays complex layers of savory herbs that sway with a delightful expression of sweet red fruit before concluding with a persistent finish. The wine rested in 20% new French oak barrels. Only 555 cases were produced."

Winemaker Notes:

"This wine has focused floral and savory notes with bright acidity backed by red currant and raspberry fruit. The texture of this luscious wine reveals aspects of the vineyard that makes for a complex, compelling wine.  The Merlot, while dominant in the blend, is complimented by the Cabernet Franc’s basis of wood and fruit skin."
