The famed Saint-Emilion is home to some of the world's most celebrated Bordeaux.  The Puisseguin plateau is one of the appellation's finest terroirs.  This small wine region is one of the "satellite" titles of Saint-Emilion and has the strictest laws in the region regarding the production of wine.  Puisseguin has all the elegance and smooth character of the finest wines from Saint-Emilion at a fraction of the cost.  Young vignerons in France have started to recognize the value and high-quality that Puisseguin could yield.  It is a great place for top-quality, bargain Bordeaux.  Caroline and Pierre Becot, fourth generation winemakers of the family, acquired land in the exceptional Puisseguin terroir in 2015.  They've challenged themselves to elevate this little-known appellation to the rank of exceptional terroir.  The 2018 Chateau Roc de Becot Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion is a jewel in the Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion crown.  It does everything right.  It's smooth, supple and plush.  This Bordeaux is enticingly delicious with a great finish and loads of character.  It's bright, easy and quite lively on the palate.  It abounds with flavors of mouthwatering blueberry, black cherry, strawberry, cloves, dried herbs and earthy notes.  Enjoy!

Jeb Dunnuck, 91-93 Points

"Dried herbs, camphor, truffle, and earthy notes emerge from the 2018 Château Roc De Becot, a plump, rounded, sexy barrel sample that does everything right. Showing the plush, forward style of the vintage, it has good purity of fruit and a great finish as well as loads of character."

Decanter, 90 Points

"Balsamic, cherry blossom, perfumed with blueberry and pomegranate. Smooth and supple, generous and really quite lively on the palate. This is bright and easy, not massively complex or layered and doesn't carry the weight you might expect but well delivered. Sleek, all in one line, lovely bite and crisp freshness on the palate, the frame is quite quite streamlined with soft spicing around the edges but well integrated. You can feel some herbal, medicinal elements together with the mouthwatering blueberry, black cherry and strawberry fruit. Lovely combination, youthful but fresh and accessible. 30% new oak, between 15-24 months in barrel."

James Suckling, 90 Points

"Stewed blackcurrants, black cherries, cloves and dried leaves on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Spiced, flavorful finish. Try from 2021."

Winemaker Notes:

"Château Roc de Bécot Puisseguin Saint Emilion is a jewel in the Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion crown. Dominated by red fruits and revealing generous body. Enticingly delicious fruit offers lingering flavors on the palate."
