"The 2014 Blanc de Noirs Ursules will leave readers searching for superlatives. It is every bit that good. Cut, precision and focus are the signatures. Creamy and resonant on the palate, the Ursules offers a dazzling expression of Pinot Noir. Next to the Presle, the Ursules carries a bit more weight and overall structure. In this tasting, it is a total knock-out. Non-dose. Disgorged: April 2018."
Wine Advocate, 96 Points
"The 2014 Blanc de Noirs Les Ursules is the first vintage of this cuvée that's spent long enough on its lees to be vintage dated. Unwinding in the glass with a lovely bouquet of crisp orchard fruit, citrus oil, beeswax and dried white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, vinous and intense, with a racy spine and chalky back-end grip that's allied, as usual, with rare ripeness and amplitude. It's so lively and vibrant that I feel confident in anticipating two decades' longevity."
Winemaker Notes:
"This pristine Blanc de Noirs from Les Ursules, a tiny 34-year-old vineyard, is a perfect example of Cédric Bouchard's meticulous attention to detail. Unfined, unfiltered and aged for 28 months, the wine showcases multiple layers of flavor, including green apple, ripe pear, jasmine and minerals, all with an ethereal and uplifting finish. The grapes were hand-harvested and pressed using only the first press juice, which was then vinified with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel barrels. Les Ursules is proudly non-dosé."
