"The 2000 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge, my candidate for a DRC Richebourg on steroids vote, possesses the extraordinary aromatics that this vineyard routinely produces. The blueberry, blackberry, forest floor, mushroom, and gamy notes are all offered in a provocative smorgasbord of aromas. There is tremendous fruit intensity, medium to full body, outstanding acid levels, and a long, textured, spectacular finish."
Wine Spectator, 94 Points
"Aromas of ripe cherry, wild berry and citrus show optimal ripeness, giving this a sweet plum core of flavors before adding a nice touch of fresh earth. Tannins are ripe and integrated, finishing with a dash of flavor akin to strawberry rhubarb pie. *Collectibles*"

"Marcassin's Blue-Slide Ridge bottling, from a vineyard owned by the Martinelli family, is Helen Turley's most consistently successful Pinot Noir. The 2000 is fully mature, with an attractively pure bouquet of black cherry, rich spices and forest floor. It's rich and textural on the palate, with a nice chassis of fine tannin and acidity. This is drinking very well."
