"Gives credence to the idea that '67 is a contender with the excellent '66. Amazingly good, with a superb nose of vanilla, chocolate and blackberries, full-bodied and round, with ripe, velvety fruit flavors and medium tannins that focus the finish."
Roy Hersch,
"There is a first time for everything. This gentle giant is one of the very best of the Ports I have had from the lackluster 1967 vintage, which managed to produce a few very well-made VPs. The Sandeman is still in great shape. Due to the lighting it is impossible to tell the color. The aromatics dance out of the glass with ultra-potent, sweet violet and floral notes with a hint of mocha. The flavors of ripe plums, figs and maple lead to a bittersweet chocolate nuance on the extremely long finish. This ’67 is a smooth operator with finesse and delivers a super smooth palate presence. This still has a good decade ahead of it too."
