About the Producer:
"One of the best known names in Rioja. In ancient times, Roman legionnaires were often rewarded with fertile land in the Rioja region for their service, influencing local viticulture and earning the area the name "Campus Veteranus." This historical legacy inspired the founding of the winery in 1959 by winemakers Beristain and Ortigüela. The inaugural Campo Viejo was crafted in 1961. Shortly thereafter, Bodega Campo Viejo became pivotal in Rioja’s history, with its wines among the first to be widely distributed internationally from 1975. The distinctive bottle design remains emblematic of Rioja to this day."
