Peachy Canyon is one of the best-known Zinfandel producers outside of Sonoma.  Founded in 1988, they are still run by the Beckett family and have long been praised as a producer of award-winning Zinfandel.  Peachy Canyon is one of the original family-owned Paso Robles wineries.  The Beckett family founded Peachy Canyon well before the region was known for producing wine.  Peachy Canyon helped put Paso Robles on the map as a key California wine region.  Wine Spectator has ranked them among the top 100 wineries in the world.  They've earned praise from Wine Enthusiast for bringing out the best in California Zinfandel.  Vinous wrote, "the Becketts have been seriously stepping up their game in recent vintages, especially since 2015.  I find a greater degree of polish now, as well as brighter fruit and better tannin integration than a decade ago… showcasing energy and balance, even though there’s plenty of ripeness to the wines as well.”  The 2022 Peachy Canyon Especial Zinfandel is a sumptuous delight.  At 15.3%, this wine is bold, rich and robust.  It has scents of berry brambles and baking spices.  This dry-farmed, hillside Zinfandel has a supple palate and a bright ruby color.  It has notes of berry cobbler, cherry, black plum, toffee, dusty anise, sagebrush, mint and earth.  Enjoy!

Wine Enthusiast, 91 Points

"Cherry, mint and loamy earth aromas converge on the nose of this bottling, which includes 3% Syrah. The palate is layered in dry flavors of sagebrush that align with black plum, berry and dusty anise."

Winemaker Notes:

"This dry-farmed, hillside Zinfandel has a bright ruby hue. Scents of berry brambles and baking spices fill the nose, preparing the way for supple flavors of berry cobbler and toffee. This wine is a sumptuous delight."
