"The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Levrons has a delightful nose with candied orange peel, camomile and white tea scents. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, a touch of bitter lemon with a persistent finish. Excellent for a Village Cru."
Jasper Morris, 91 Points
"Pale lemon with a lime touch. The bouquet is a little hidden at the moment. Lean and intense on the palate, first some pears, then a little apple, now some citrus. Cool and almost austere but with time and as the sample warms, a little more flesh appears. Drink from 2024-2028."
Winemaker Notes:
"Bitouzet’s lone Puligny-Montrachet is produced from a 0.6-hectare 1955 planting (half replanted in 2000) in the lieu-dit Les Levrons, which lies just below premier cru Les Referts on the slope in the northern part of the village. François crafts a Puligny of impeccable, crystalline clarity from this site, with more filigree, citrus-tinged fruit than his Meursaults, but with an equally authoritative, if less weighty, undercarriage of earth-derived minerality. It spends 16 months in 20-25% new barrels during its élevage."
Alcohol: 12.5%
