“Stacks of ripe mirabelle, also notes of fresh pumpkin, green pepper and sage. Powerful, rich and creamy, but with a mineral acidity, fine tannins and spiciness that make this a really fascinating full-bodied gruner veltliner. Long, self-confidently dry and mineral finish. Drink or hold.”

"The 2022 Gruner Veltliner Kirchweg Smaragd was picked between Wosendorf and St. Michael, from a site of Danube gravel with a slight loess cover, including some gneiss debris deposited by erosion from a lateral valley. It is very shy on the nose but expands on the palate in a fine smattering of white pepper bedded on ripe, smooth pear flesh, creamy yeast and crushed sage - all with lovely clarity. The finish is rounded, smooth and slightly peppery. (Bone-dry)"
