"The 2022 vintage of HGIII, Hourglass' flagship blend, showcases the dominant Merlot's expressive qualities, along with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah. A delicate balance of red and black currant aromas blend with fragrant lavender and herbes de Provence, creating a floral experience. On the palate, bold flavors of dark sour cherry and inky black cassis are complemented by smooth tannins and lively acidity. Hints of light roasted coffee, plum, wild strawberry, and fennel add depth to the complex blend. By blending 50% new and seasoned barrels, the wine maintains its freshness while obtaining the perfect balance of barrel spice and structure, resulting in a powerful and elegant wine that will leave a lasting impression."
