"Made by the talented Anna Monticelli, the 2018 Malbec comes mostly from the cool Coombsville appellation, in the southern part of Napa Valley. It includes 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and was brought up in 60% new French oak. Beautiful blue fruits, violets, bouquet garni, and peppered meat-like nuances emerge from the glass, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with a fresh, elegant texture, terrific tannins, and a great finish. I’d happily drink bottles any time over the coming decade."  

Winemaker Notes: 

"The Ilaria Malbec bursts from the glass with seductive aromatics of huckleberry compote, blackberry liqueur and creme de cassis. This wine showcases opulent ripe blue and black fruits complimented by layers of shaved dark chocolate, roasted herbs, white pepper and crushed volcanic rock. The palate offers great tannin structure and weight yet the wine is soft, round and voluptuous. This wine is very approachable now and will continue to age beautifully for some time."
