Winemaker Notes: 

"Since planting in 2001, the Syrah fruit from our Estate Vineyard in Coombsville has produced a truly special wine. It carries all the big juicy flavors you get from the varietal when fully ripe, but retains a tremendous amount of acidity for a varietal that can easily become flabby. While it has always been good, in 2016 we made a small change with the goal of adding another layer of depth and complexity to the wine. We decided to add a portion of whole cluster fruit to the fermentation. Stems of Syrah are spicy, floral and fragrant. The inclusion of partial stems allows for an even more balanced and highly layered wine."
