"This wine clearly speaks to the potential of the vintage - the fruit is well extracted and pretty juicy, certainly on the plump side, alongside pretty evident oak, there are toasted almond notes and the tannins are dry slightly on the finish, but this is a wine with personality and grip. One third new oak was used."

"The 2018 Dutruch Grand Poujeaux is vibrant and poised in the glass, with terrific energy backing the red-toned fruit. Raspberry coulis, lavender, spice, menthol and blood give this mid-weight Moulis notable character. There is a vibrancy to the 2018 that is incredibly appealing. I would give this a year or two in bottle, but it is pretty impressive in the early going."
