OK folks, we’ve got another in a long line of fantastic barrel picks from Four Roses. This is an OBSQ and it’s been 6 years since the last time we had a “Q” available. Four Roses will tell you this recipe will present as floral, spicy, and medium bodied and that’s true with the typical 9-year-old offerings. From my experience though, once these barrels reach 10 years, they hit you with so much more on the nose and palate and this is one’s over 11 years old! You go from medium bodied to full bodied and way more complex on the nose and palate. 

I sampled this 3 times in a glen over as many days and as it opened up and developed, it got better and better!

Our Notes:

Nose:

Candied pecans, Orange blossom, Roses, Sweet oak, Brown sugar, Cherry Kool-Aid powder, Mixed nut brittle 

Palate:

Madagascar vanilla, Orange peel, White peach, Bittersweet chocolate, Cherry cola,

Barrel char, Leather, Clove, Nutmeg 

Finish:

Medium long to long, Clove, Nutmeg , Cinnamon, Black pepper 

Alcohol: 55.9%
