"The 2019 Pape Star Blonde is straight-up impressive and reminds me of a great Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc. A blend of 80% Grenache Blanc and 20% Roussanne, it has ripe quince and pineapple fruits, some honeyed herb and toasty notes, medium body, and a layered, textured, yet light-on-its-feet style on the palate that's going to shine on the dinner table."
Wine Advocate, 93 Points
"The 2019 Pape Star Blonde is a pretty wine made from 80% Grenache Blanc and 20% Roussanne. It offers pure perfume of elderflower and quince with notes of poached pears and baker's yeast. The medium-bodied palate has a satiny texture and appealing weightiness, streaked with mineral notions and lifted by juicy freshness on the long finish."
Winemaker Notes:
"This wine has a bouquet of gardenias and white pepper. On the palate, it has ample weight (thanks to the Roussanne), but does not feel heavy or cloying and finishes cleanly with a hint of spice."
