"The 2022 Rully Margotes 1er Cru comes from the same valley as Vauvry, with 0.9 hectares of vine planted in 1946.  This has been one of Vincent’s most nuanced and understated bouquets, gradually opening in the glass to reveal scents of Golden Delicious, Clementine pith, and light, wet, rocky aromas.  The well-balanced palate has a taut line of acidity and beautifully integrated oak.  The smooth, harmonious finish has a hint of patisserie/popcorn right on the aftertaste.  Superb."

"Moderate wood still allows the well-layered aromas of white orchard fruit, orange peel, crushed fennel and spice elements to be appreciated. There is both better vibrancy and definition to the stonier flavors that offer better depth and length on the balanced and youthfully austere finale. This is excellent and recommended provided you have the patience to allow the oak to better integrate."
