Producer: Karthauserhof
Region: Mosel, Germany
Varietal: Riesling
Year: 2012
Vinous,
"Delicate aromas of white peach, persimmon and lemon oil. The palate offers a subtle play of ripe apricot fruit and subdued minerality, with just enough fresh acidity to maintain verve. Nicely balanced wine with a satisfying finish."
Winemaker Notes:
"An explosion of rose fragrance, intense yellow fruit, raspberry and pear. Creamy elegance and complex texture due to spontaneous fermentation. Still very light and refreshing. Great mineral length."
About the Producer:
"Karthauserhof is one of the two most important estates in the Ruwer (under the umbrella of the Mosel region), with monastic roots of the wine estate going back to the 14th Century. The same family lineage has owned the estate since purchasing it from Napoleon in 1811, and it has been led by patriarch and winemaker Christoph Tyrell since 1986."
