Jeb Dunnuck, 94 Points

"I think the star of the show in 2018 is the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape A La Gloire De Mon Grand-Père, which is almost all Grenache. It reveals a medium ruby color as well as a beautiful bouquet of black raspberries, dried flowers, incense, and Provençal spice to go with a medium to full-bodied, downright sexy style on the palate. With silky tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish, It’s another 2018 that’s loaded with charm and is going to drink nicely for 10-15 years."

Wine Advocate, 92-94 Points

"From 70-year-old Grenache vines in the clay soils of la Gardioles, the 2018 Châteauneuf du Pape A la Gloire de Mon Grand-Père is a step up from the Cuvée Tradition. Rose-like florals mark the nose, followed by spiced raspberries. Full-bodied, rich and velvety, it finishes long and somewhat tannic, with obvious shadings of licorice and pepper. It should be relatively long lived in the context of the estate's offerings. Nicolas Boiron, who runs his family's estate, is a huge man with an equal-sized personality. Quick to laugh and joke, he's a pleasure to spend time with in the cellar, even if his size makes me feel like a bit of a hobbit. There are three red Châteauneufs, from successively older vines and smaller, more distinct parcels, plus a Côtes du Rhône from les Champauvins. A look back at the 2009s revealed "a hot, powerful vintage," said Boiron, "spicy, but 2010 is more complex." The wines have held up well, possessing significant tannins that have helped the wines retain their shape despite ample ripeness."
