The Barn Raiser is back! This is our first private label Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley. We can't say which winery it comes from, but we can tell you that it comes from a winery that charges $75 a bottle for their main labeling. We entered the Barn Raiser in this year's Press Democrat's North Coast Wine Challenge and, to our great delight, it scored big! The 2021 Barn Raiser Russian River Valley Pinot Noir took home a Best of Class Award and scored 99 Points from the judges. In fact, it was only one vote shy of winning Best of the Best for the whole competition. Judges were already clamoring for cases last week before the winners were announced to the public. The 2021 Barn Raiser Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a seductive wine full of big berry flavors. It has notes of cherries, blueberries, orange peel, mushrooms, violet and tobacco. This Pinot is bright, aromatic and structured. It's medium-bodied with powdery tannins and a persistent finish. There are only 200 cases of this Pinot available so once it's gone, it's gone. Act fast!
Best of Class Winner, 99 Points - 2024 Press Democrat's North Coast Wine Challenge
"Big berry (Strawberry/cherry); Aromatic tea; rich with great deep flavor profiles. Seductive wine."
Winemaker Notes:
"Bright aromatic blend of fruit and earth on the nose, with layers of cherries, blueberries, orange peel, mushrooms, violet, moss and tobacco. The medium-bodied palate is structured with powdery tannins and high-toned acidity that highlight earthy and loamy nuances on the persistent finish."
Alcohol: 14%
