"There is a tangible step up from the Classique with a lovely gamey nose, with a touch of steaming espresso. Good definition and lots of character. The palate is well defined, very oaky at the moment of course, generous black fruits, black coffee, a touch of cumin, briary and damson. Fine tannins leading to a swaggering finish. Quietly impressive."
