Wine Advocate, 95 Points
"The 2021 Côtes de Tablas Blanc is the best iteration of this cuvée I have ever tasted. A blend of 44% Viognier, 32% Grenache Blanc, 14% Marsanne and 10% Roussanne, it offers pure, slowly blossoming aromas of baked quince and peaches, mushroom powder, Manuka honey, roasted almonds and streaks of flint. The full-bodied palate is a harmonious symphony of highly concentrated, savory flavor layers, mouthwatering acidity, an alluring, velvety texture and a very long, flavorful finish. Best After 2023."
James Suckling, 92 Points
"Nicely aromatic yet restrained, with a creamy and mineral whiff to the lemongrass, anise, honeysuckle and green apples. Medium-bodied and smooth on the palate, showing a refined, saline tang to the mid-palate with a touch of mineral quality. 44% viognier, 32% grenache blanc, 14% marsanne and 10% roussanne."
Winemaker Notes:
"The Tablas Creek Vineyard Côtes de Tablas Blanc is a blend of four estate-grown white Rhône varieties. The wine, following the model set by wines of the Southern Rhône, is a blend of grapes, led by the floral aromatics and stone fruit of Viognier and complemented by the crisp acids and rich mouthfeel of Grenache Blanc, the elegance and minerality of Marsanne, and the structure of Roussanne.
An intense nose of peach pit, mandarin orange, caramel, and brioche, with a little minty lift. On the palate, rich, tangy, and salty, with ripe peach and lime flavors given lift by bright acids and a chalky mineral note. A creamy texture emphasizes the stone fruit flavors on the finish."
