James Suckling, 94 Points

"Fresh flowers flow out of the glass with honeysuckle and jasmine as well as strawberries and spices. Medium- to full-bodied with lots of fruit and a long, long finish. So many lemons and green apples. 70% chardonnay, 15% pinot noir and 15% pinot meunier. Three years on the lees. Dosage 3 g/L. Drink now."

Decanter, 93 Points

"A solitary Chardonnay-led cuvée in the Egly-Ouriet portfolio, this nevertheless feels like one of the family with its expressive Mirabelle plum, tangy lemon and toasted nut aromatics, finishing with an energetic chalky squeeze. Francis Egly is a fan of the 'perfect' 2018 vintage, and this example shows admirable focus and concentration for the year. A blend of 70% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Noir and 15% Meunier from Egly's vineyard in the village of Bisseuil. Drinking Window: 2024-2030."

Wine Advocate, 91 Points

"A new cuvée from Egly makes its debut in the NV Brut Vignes de Bisseuil, a blend of 70% Chardonnay and the balance equal parts Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, all vinified in oak. This first release, disgorged in March 2021 with three grams dosage, is based on the 2016 vintage. Offering up aromas of crisp orchard fruit, lemon oil, mint, white flowers and almonds, it's medium to full-bodied, vinous and chiseled, its enveloping core of fruit girdled by bright acids and chalky structure. Concluding with a long, saline finish, it's a superb addition to the range that nips at the heels of Egly's NV Brut Grand Cru."

Winemaker Notes:

"A new wine from this legendary family estate! The “vines of Bisseuil” are mostly Chardonnay, grow on south-facing slopes to the east of the village of Aÿ. An exciting departure from Pinot Noir-based blends, ‘Les Vignes de Bisseul’ is both racy and refined, a thrilling Chardonnay wine (with 10% Pinot Noir and 10% Meunier) that showcases all the tension and texture of the best of Egly Champagne.  Pale lemon. Aromas of white flowers, stone fruit, lemon curd, and light nuts. Medium-bodied, textured and long; bright acid."
