"The Chermette family’s Moulin-à-Vent “les Trois Roches” is a brilliant young wine in 2022. As I have mentioned before, the wine is made from a blend of fruit from three different lieux à dits in the appellation of Moulin-à-Vent: les Rochegrès, la Roche Noire and la Rochelle. The 2022 version offers up a pure and very deep bouquet of black cherries, sweet black currants, bonfire, spit-roasted gamebird, coffee bean, a complex base of granitic minerality, just a whisper of fresh thyme and a floral topnote redolent of violets and peonies. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and seamlessly balanced, with a sappy core of black fruit, beautiful soil signature and grip, ripe, fine-grained tannins and superb focus on the long and complex finish. This is a proper bottle of Moulin-à-Vent and deserves some hibernation time in the cellar before broaching. (Drink between 2028-2075)"
Winemaker Notes:
"Deep ruby with purple highlights. Intense, aromas of red fruits, floral touches and mineral, smoky, spicy notes. Fine and racy, with a full, round, and fleshy attack. Soft tannins with smoothness and a velvety texture. Good aromatic complexity. Aromas of cherry, strawberry, and blackcurrant syrup. Vanilla finish."
Alcohol: 13.5%
