"The viscous and impenetrable ruby colour anticipates luscious aromas of cherry jam, candied figs, leather, and pot-pourri, with a whiff of exotic spice and subtle herbal nuances giving lift. Mouthwatering minerals and a touch of tannic astringency support the energetic and only moderately sweet progression, leading to a moreish finish featuring vintage Port-like flavours of dark chocolate, botanical herbs, and iodine. Passo Nero is made with Nero d’Avola grapes that undergo a 15-day-long appassimento on trellises after harvest."
