2020 Matthieu Barret Vilain [JS90]

"This super-fresh syrah is closer to good Beaujolais Villages than it is a typical Rhone wine, but it has so much wild-berry charm and a warm note that reminds me of autumn leaves. Pleasantly dry yet supple finish." 

Winemaker Notes: 

"“Vilain” grapes come from 2 sources from Ardeche: 50% from the village of Roussas and 50% from the village of Eclassan. All grapes are harvested by team Barret and brought back to the winery. This Syrah is harvested earlier to work it like a primeur."
