"A huge, dense wine, the 2012 is the first Cabernet Sauvignon in this complete vertical that is not at all ready to drink. Primary red/purplish fruit, rose petal, lavender, spice and sweet pipe tobacco are all amplified in a Cabernet Sauvignon endowed with tremendous depth and richness. Today, the 2012 is very young, with a real sense of explosive vertical power that comes through loud and clear. Over the last few years the 2012 has put on quite a bit of weight. Two-thousand twelve is a vintage with many terrific wines but few that hit the peaks of profound beauty. This is one of them. "It was one of those perfect growing seasons in terms of both quantity and quality," winemaker Francoise Peschon added. Yields were 4.5 tons per acre, which is on the high side. Interestingly, 2012 was also the last October harvest at Vine Hill Ranch."
