Producer: Julien Pineau
Region: Loire, France
Varietal: Côt (Malbec)
Year: 2019
Winemaker Notes:
"The name translated to "Hit of Juice" or "Electric Shock" and consists of a TRIPLE pun: an electric shock, an easy wine to drink and it's Julien's wine ("Jus" being an abreviation for Julien somehow). The French really love their puns. This is beautifully fresh and juicy—serve chilled and enjoy soft and supple raspberry and strawberry leaf flavors. Perfect with charcuterie or a lunchtime salad with smoked salmon."
About the Wine:
"Cot is a purple grape variety used in making red wine. The grapes tend to have an inky dark color and robust tannins. In the South-West it is known as Malbec or Auxerrois. In the Loire it is know as Côt. Both regions produce radically different expressions of the grape."
