"A new wine in this range, the NV (2019) Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs Nature de Craie 1er Cru is remarkably vibrant for a year that saw two brutal heat spikes in the summer. Citrus, white pepper, chalk and white flowers all run through this wiry, vibrant Champagne. The 2019 was vinified with no SO2 and bottled with no dosage. It is a bit lean, but this is an auspicious debut just the same."
Winemaker Notes:
"Laherte’s goal here is to express the clearest and finest grain of chalk, and the results are clear and concise. Rich in the middle, but supported by a mineral backbone, that is clear to anyone. This wine is sublime young, due to its richness and complexity, but will express more layers over time, if you can keep your hands off of it."
