"Also all Grenache brought up in demi-muids, the 2020 Gigondas Le Lieu-Dit is in the same qualitative ballpark but shows a very different style. Coming from a cooler, sandy terroir near the domaine, it's all about finesse and elegance and is full-bodied, with lots of ripe strawberry and cherry fruits, notes of dried flowers, spice, and loamy earth, ultra-fine tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. It's another insanely good wine from this estate that will have two decades of longevity."

"Deep, glistening red.  Expansive, mineral and spice-accented red fruit liqueur, incense, cola and garrigue qualities are presented on the powerful, finely detailed nose.  Palate-staining cherry pie, floral pastille and spice cake flavors show superb energy for their depth.  The spice and floral notes drive a seriously long, penetrating finish that’s framed by polished, well-knit tannins."
