"Just made from Clos now. A fine medium deep purple. The nose begins quietly but becomes exquisite with just a minute or two. Fully ripe yet impeccably balanced. Iron rich soil shows in a slight blood orange note on the palate, good acidity, very stylish. Drink from 2026-2031."

"The old vine Ostrea bottling of Gevrey AC is also excellent in 2021, with just a touch more inherent elegance and refinement than the straight villages. The lovely bouquet delivers a classic blend of sweet dark berries, black plums, a nice touch of sweet stem tones, bitter chocolate, dark soil tones, woodsmoke and just a hint of oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, complex and shows off lovely depth at the core, with good soil signature and grip, fine-grained tannins and a long, complex and elegant finish. Lovely wine. (Drink between 2028-2065)"
Burghound, 89-91 Points
"Note: from very old vines situated in Clos du Village and Combe du Bas A slightly riper nose is comprised by notes of both red and dark currant, plum and similar floral and earth nuances. There is slightly better volume and mid-palate density to the medium-bodied flavors that exude more evident minerality on the equally rustic and youthfully austere but firmer finale. This is quite good and worth considering. *Burghound Outstanding!*"
Wine Advocate, 89-91 Points
"The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea has turned out nicely, unwinding in the glass with aromas of cherries, raspberries, sweet spices and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, with an ample core of fruit underpinned by powdery tannins, it derives from old vines in Brochon that always deliver a more concentrated, muscular version of the appellation."
Vinous, 89-91 Points
"The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea has a finely-tuned nose, transparent red fruit and touches of shucked oyster shells, darker fruit emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with raspberry coulis and blood orange notes, finely balanced, gentle grip with a slightly grainy, quite persistent finish. Very fine."
