"The 2021 Kabinett from the Juffer vineyard is a touch tight from its screwcap, but once it is coaxed out of its closure shell with some aeration, is beautifully expressive on the nose, offering up scents of pear, white cherry, mint, a lovely base of slate, violets, citrus blossoms and bee pollen. On the palate the wine is pure, medium-bodied and filigreed, with lovely intensity of flavor and complexity, bright acids, exceptional focus and backend bounce and a long, zesty finish. This is classic, delicate Kabinett. Its technical details are 8.5 percent octane, 45 grams of sugar and 9.8 grams per liter of acidity. It breaks my heart that it is sealed under a screwcap, but the future is here and no one ever promised it would be an improvement on the past. 2022-2060."

"The medium-sweet 2021 Juffer Kabinett is clear and finely reductive on the precise and leafy nose. Lush, round and sweet as well as tangy on the palate, this is an elegant, refined, saline and savory Kabinett that will be easy to quaff in a year or two. The acidity is sharp but embedded in charming, lush fruit. 8% stated alcohol."
