Decanter, 99 Points

"Méo owns two parcels of Richebourg that border Cros Parantoux, mostly in Les Véroilles. The wine produced in 2019 was spectacular – among the highlights of the vintage. There is no lack of sweet red fruit, but it is very complex, with rich, earthy notes, a savoury, gamey side and a strong mineral underpinning. This is among the most transparent reflections of the terroir of Richebourg. On the palate there is a beautiful tension between fresh acidity, firm tannins and a deeply satisfying concentration of extract."

Jasper Morris, 96-98 Points

"No more than medium deep purple. Ripe and plump, with a lush character that nevertheless does not go too far. Indeed, the fruit just builds and builds on the palate. The floral side of raspberry. Very sumptuous and absolutely complete. The fruit covers the acidity and indeed any tannins, but one can sense that the requisite structure is there."

Wine Advocate, 95-97 Points

"The king of the cellar is the 2019 Richebourg Grand Cru, a full-bodied, multidimensional wine that evokes aromas of plums, sweet berry fruit, peonies, blood orange and Indian spices. Layered and concentrated, it's textural and enveloping, with an ample core of rich and perfumed fruit that almost entirely conceals its chassis of velvety structuring tannin."

Vinous, 95-97 Points

"The 2019 Richebourg Grand Cru has a well-defined bouquet that expands with aeration (in this case, while I talked with Jean-Nicolas Méo about jogging). Presenting a mixture of red and black fruit, crushed stone and hints of violet and iris, this is a multifaceted bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied and very different: much more structured, closed and dense. Méo mentioned how mercurial this Richebourg has been in recent days, and I reckon I caught it on a broody day. But there is firm grip and great length. A Richebourg that is beseeching people like me to leave it alone."

Burghound, 94-97 Points

"A cool, airy and highly restrained nose features superbly complex notes of essence of red and dark currant, cherry, plum, lavender, rose petal and a wonderful array of spice wisps. There is equally superb depth to the dense, muscular and imposingly broad-shouldered flavors that possess a very classy texture before terminating an overtly mineral-driven, well-balanced, moderately austere and stunningly long finish. This is, in a word, marvelous. *Don't Miss!*
