"The 2018 Chardonnay (Sparkling) Bentrock Vineyard offers a super-classic expression of this Sta. Rita Hills site. Chalk, slate, oyster shells, white pepper and mint are all finely sketched. This nervy, taut sparkling wine will delight readers who enjoy vibrant, intensely saline wines. As good as this is, my impression is that future releases will be even better."
Winemaker Notes:
"The color is golden with a tinge of green hues. The stream of bubbles is active and persists. The aromatic range presents a lot of finesse and depth with slight exotic aromatics and notes of hazelnut, ripe lemon and yellow peach. The mouthfeel is complex, powerful and creamy, with flavors of tangerine, fresh almond and hot croissant."
