"Toasty and yeasty aromas dominate on the first nose, with swirling smoky intrigue. It’s full and rich on the tongue, with grilled brioche and creamy intensity paired with bruised apple skin and mashed apple flesh. Custard and viennoiserie characters give weight and body, while the finish perks up with bitter nut skin and greengage freshness. This is a Brut NV to stock up on, as the complexity is impressive for the price. An all-round winner."

"Based on the 2018 vintage and disgorged with only one gram per liter dosage, Egly's NV Brut Les Prémices delivers aromas of sweet orchard fruit, peach, baking spices and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, it's a charming, enveloping wine with a sweet core of fruit and a bright, saline finish.” 

Winemaker Notes: 

"A vibrant wine blending Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier in equal parts and sourced from vineyards on the Massif de Saint-Thierry, near the village of Trigny, northwest of Reims. Bright and precise, with peppery notes and citrus zest. Translated from the French, ‘prémices’ signifies “a beginning.” Derived from the Latin primitiae, which means the first fruits of a harvest, set aside as an offering to the gods in antiquity.  Pale lemon. Aromas of white flowers and marzipan, white peaches, light herbs. Bright and precise, with peppery notes and citrus zest. Savory, with a mineral finish; long."
