Yearly, Pinhook has been releasing barrels as they mature and become more complex. Their Vertical series has become something of legend. When given the chance to pick a single barrel and become part of this famed series, we jumped. The result is a super complex, rich, sweet, delicious bourbon. At 117.2 proof, this baby is right in our wheelhouse. Punchy enough to stand up to a cold winter's night, but smooth enough to enjoy throughout the season. Get it while it lasts, this is as special as it comes!
Our Observations:
Nose: Cherry cola, cardamom, barrel aged root beer, marzipan, cinnamon, vanilla, citrus
Palate: Caramel cherry, cola, peanut brittle, butterscotch, baking spices
Finish: long Nutmeg, black pepper, buttered popcorn.The buttered popcorn flavor comes on at the very end of the finish. Kind of a balance between creamy and oily mouth feel, quite satisfying
Alcohol: 58.6%
