"The 2020 Muscadet “Monnières Saint Fiacre” 1947 from Domaine Gadais, named for the year that Louis Gadais first purchased a plot of land in the vineyard of Gras Mouton and started planting it, is simply brilliant. Like all Cru bottlings, the wine has been given a minimum of two years aging sur lies prior to bottling and offers up a deep, bright and beautifully complex constellation of breadfruit, sweet leesy tones, raw almond, wet stone minerality, gentle brininess and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a lovely core of fruit, superb mineral undertow, good acids and impressive balance and grip on the long, poised and seamless finish. Superb juice."
