"Inky ruby. Powerful aromas of ripe black and blue fruits are complemented by suave floral and peppery spice nuances. Palate-staining, expansive blackberry and boysenberry flavors show very good depth as well as energy thanks to a core of smoky minerality. Closes with powerful dark fruit thrust and smooth, slow-building tannins that fold quickly into the sappy dark fruit."
Winemaker Notes:
"Deep, black hue. Very black, complex and slightly reductive on the nose. The wine shows notes of ripe, wild black fruit, which are then joined by notes of graphite, carbon and soot. Massive on entry to the palate with tight, lovely mineral tautness. Overall, the wine gives a sensation of volume, is full-bodied on the palate, well-structured, meaty and crisp. This is a powerful, distinguished Cornas, which shows a great deal of balance."
